I am Dr. Mark Dewey, I am passionate about teaching chemistry and assisting my students to succeed in Chemistry. I trained as an organic chemist and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom and a PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

 

I pursued a career as a Teacher at the National University of Singapore (NUS) High School of Mathematics and Science and was soon promoted to Assistant Head of Research, Innovation, and Enterprise. NUS High School of Math and Science is a leading Independent School in Singapore that attracts students from the top 10% of the Singapore cohort and targets students that are university bound with a talent for math and/or science. Whilst at NUS High School, I completed the Beginning Teachers Training course that was conducted by the National Institute of Education, Singapore. The training course provided me with the core practices and competencies required to be an expert and innovative educator in chemistry.

 

I focused on teaching the senior high school chemistry modules such as Organic Chemistry, Advanced Organic Chemistry, Experiments in Synthetic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, and Current Trends in Chemistry. My teaching experience includes the College Boards Advance Placement program (AP) in Chemistry. 

 

I am familiar with the GCSE/IGCSE, A-Level, JC1 & JC2, IB, and AP Chemistry courses.
